The text below serves a single purpose: To try to convince you that the Christian God exists, and that you need him.
When surfing the Internet, you will find pages representing many different ideologies and religions. And you may reasonably shrug at this page and think: “Well, another one of those. This is too silly. Let me find something else!”
But... Nevertheless, do give yourself a few minutes to read this.
I'll start by anticipating some questions regarding my personal religious affiliation: I'd like to emphasize that I am not a member of Jehovah's Witnesses, the Mormons, or any other sect or cult. I am simply a member of the Danish National Church, which is a mainstream Lutheran Church.
The only thing special about me is that the belief in God means a lot to me, and I'm convinced that it should do so to you too.
Okay, enough said. Below you'll find a few notes I've written on this subject.
No! You can’t. Over time several attempts have been made, but they are all rather pathetic and inadequate.
I shall therefore not make another hopeless attempt; let a small hint suffice:
The short answer is: I don’t know.
The question is very important, and it hits right at the centre of almost every religion: Evil things happen in the world; this must mean that God either doesn’t want to or isn’t able to do anything about it. If he doesn’t want to do anything about it, he can’t be good. If he isn’t able to do anything about it, he can’t be almighty – or perhaps he doesn’t exists at all.
The question may be phrased in many different ways:
God needs you. He needs you to love him, and he needs you to love your fellow men and women and help them. He has a plan for your life. It involves a loving services for him here on earth and a wonderful life together with him after death.
Perhaps what I’ve written here has touched you. Perhaps not.
